World Seasons shows what the weather is like anywhere in the world on any day of the year. You can use all of it without an account. If you sign in, we keep your saved places, your home and your theme so they follow you to other devices — and nothing more.

Who we are

World Seasons (world-seasons-map.pages.dev) is run by George Kvasnikov, who is responsible for the personal data described here. You can reach us at george@gkvasnikov.com.

Without an account

We do not ask for any personal information, and we do not run analytics, advertising or tracking. The site sets no cookies. What you choose is kept in your own browser's storage, on your device only:

• your saved places, including how you framed each one's map;
• your home, if you set one;
• light or dark theme;
• a short-lived copy of weather forecasts you have looked at, so pages load faster.

The address bar carries the state of the map (layer, dates, place, view) so you can share a link; it contains nothing about you. You can clear all of this at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.

"Use my current location" asks your browser for your position only when you press it. The position is used inside the page to find the nearest town and is not sent to us or anyone else.

If you sign in

You can sign in with Google or Apple. We never see your password. From your sign-in provider we receive your email address and, if you share it, your name and profile picture. If you choose Apple's "Hide My Email", we receive a private relay address instead of your real one.

With your account we store:

• your email address, name and the identifier your sign-in provider gives you;
• when your account was created and when you last signed in;
• your saved places, your home and your theme.

We use this only to let you sign in and to keep your saved places, home and theme in step across your devices. We do not use it for marketing, sell it or share it with anyone except the service providers below, who process it for us.

The legal basis is the performance of the service you asked for when you signed in (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Using the site without an account involves no personal data beyond the technical requests described next.

Services the site uses

Like any website, loading World Seasons means your browser connects to the servers below, which see your IP address and browser details as part of delivering their content. They act under their own privacy policies.

Some of these providers are based in or use servers in the United States and other countries outside your own. Where this applies to personal data, they rely on safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

Account data is kept for as long as you have an account. You can delete your account yourself at any time — open the profile panel and choose Delete account — which removes it and everything stored with it at once. You can also ask us to, and we will within 30 days. Data in your browser stays until you clear it.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it or to stop processing it, and you can take it elsewhere. Write to george@gkvasnikov.com from the address you signed in with, and we will answer within 30 days. If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

Signing out removes your session from the device; your saved places stay in that browser until you clear its data.

Children

World Seasons is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly hold accounts for them.

Changes

If we change what we collect or why, we will update this page and its date above. If a change is significant, we will say so on the site before it takes effect.
